Fab, always worth keeping hold of these things!
-
And possibly here's the original pdf.

Maybe we'll just leave you to it then!?
Only joking.
Mine is more of a pipe dream list than a wish list!
But I'm hoping that if I've been good I might get 12" dob when I retire.

Full width at half maximum.
Learn something new every day.
Sorry, I can't be of any help to you though!

15mm inter pupils distance, is that eyerelief to the rest of us?
Nope, for me, that would be the distance between pupils!
Usually called the inter pupillary distance.
15mm would put your eyes rather close together!

Mass and density?
I don't think they are big enough.
I haven't read about their original formation yet.

Came here in the hope this was alcohol related!
Merry Christmas, nearly.

Another blast from the past!
I'd imagine it's probably easier, cheaper and quicker to find a mate with a 3d printer nowadays!

Not sure how much junk is actually going to be there apart from the third stage and payload, which given its new orbit may not be intact after its 1st encounter with tge asteroid belt
Boosters are recovered, centre stage took a swim and the failings fell back to be recovered. Far less random chod left floating from this test
It was the car I was thinking of!

Sorry, I'm with the, "Yet more space junk!" brigade.
Just because he can, doesn't mean he has to....

Is the baffle still in the same position as the original photo?
Can you hook it out with a long hooky thing?!

I think my EPs well and truly fall into the mismatch collection!
They're in the sig, but I'll take a pic with them all lined up if I get the chance.

return the unit to the Widescreen Centre
Definitely!
If it's only a few weeks and used once and Widscreen Centre are anywhere near as excellent as FLO, there shouldn't be a problem.

Just saying, "Hello" again, as I've just rediscovered this section after the forum update!
-
Have you tried it?!
I'd make sure there's no way it can actually fall off whilst viewing.
If you don't want to tape it to the body of your 'scope, then strapping it on somehow might be safer.
The view will be fine.
I made a filter for my 8" dob that effectively stopped it down to 2" and it worked a treat.
I don't know about making multiple off axis filters though.
Someone will be along eventually if they do, if not, why not try it and see?

Alan has a couple of empty cases!

Absolutely delighted for you Alan!

Maybe for his current run of bad weather in Bulgaria, but I'm not sure he can take the blame for the UK too!

Nice one John!
But in all fairness, 5 years has been quite a long time in the ep market.

I still think the eyepiece storeage area that Tim Wetherell made for his fantastic 8" refractor is the best I've seen. Come to mention it the scope is one of the best I've seen too
Wow! Both 'scope and storage!
And just for clarity and to avoid any misunderstanding, I didn't make mine.

I've been away for a very long time, and to be honest haven't had my scopes out very often since my second heart attack (and quadruple bypass) three years ago. I hope to do better this spring, as my health has gotten a lot better although I still can't go out on the -10 nights we've been having. I noticed a very nice crescent moon last night, and would have liked to get my refractor out, but it's just too damn cold.
I really appreciate all the kind comments I've seen in response to my post. It seems to have done what I wanted to do, which is to give a reasonable and simple way to create a usable and versatile set of eyepieces that can grow as you save your pounds.
I'll try to hang about here more often. This was my favorite of all the astronomy forums I visited, and the longest lasting by now.
Great to have you back.

About time I updated my Eyepiece collection Photo, here goes:

Here is a closer view, sorry about quality but light is terrible here
The little white box is a reducer and the 9 is the Vixen SLV.
But you'd think for the money, that TV could sort out that terrible fuzzy green writing!

Now there's a good idea. I did struggle at school and I'm not really prepared to fork out for another set just for that. A reasonably priced zoom might be a good alternative. Thanks John.
