I loved my Lunt 40 mounted on my SW Solar Quest mount.  If you ever get a chance to try that mount it tracks the sun perfectly.0FA6DDE7-AD8C-497F-B3AD-844E302E1B46.thumb.jpeg.c07c17353fd4ae4335bdea5ee9f99f92.jpeg

Nice set up 😀 Not sure how field rotation would affect the imaging process with an alt/an mount though? With a long avi there should be some field rotation introduced from the mount?

That Lunt 40 was a great scope mounted on my SW Solar Quest mount with HelioFind, it tracked perfectly, very easy to use, great views as can be seen, lI sold it a couple months ago and bought the Lunt LS50 only because I want to try the Pressure Tuning.

Yes Im happy with it. Did the pressure tuning improve things compared to tilt tuning?

Interesting to see a Lunt 40 being imaged with, which blocking filter size is it?

I bought one last year for visual use,
but I am tempted to try an image or two, we will see.

The Lunt 40 is a sweet scope price wise and image wise.

Its the B600 blocking filter. Yes its good value for money I think

Hi Johan what filter system are you using. I can see its white light but what specifically are you using. Looks like you had good seeing.

    Very nice detail.

    Hi! Thank You :)

Im using baaders continuum filter. I have had it for many years now and it seems to be working still. The seeing was okey at times. This was a 600 frames stack from around 10 000 frames.

  5. Clear blue sky today so I took the opportunity :) Not too much going on in white light other than some small ARs, but some nice acitvity in CaK.

CaK: 100 APO, Lunt CaK B1200, ASI 1600MM

White light: 70ED, Lunt herschel wedge, solar continuum filter, ASI 1600MM

  6. A few night ago the moon was unusually beautiful when it was about to set in the west. The atmosphere made it appear extra red although it was relatively high above the horizon, and it gave it a blood moon feeling.

  7. Venus is getting thinner and increasing in size at a very fast pace now. This is just over 2 weeks time and its interesting to see how fast its changing.

All images taken with 100mm APO, 3x barlow and ASI 1600MM

    Clear skies!
