  1. Hi all,

Just got the ASIair pro bundle from FLO the other day and trying to connect up. Have read that wifi can be an issue and I find that in my setting on my phone it says that the ASIair is 'Connected, no Internet'. It could be that I'm doing something basically wrong as I'm doing this in the house where I've got internet everywhere! I have read about possibly needing a Vonets WiFi Extender but not sure if this will sort it. Btw, on the ASIair itself the power light is on and the wifi light is on but the card light is off, it goes on after initially putting the card in, not sure if that is ok,  just looking for any issue I can spot.

Hope someone can help out cos it's very frustrating at the mo!

    Cheers,

    John

  2. I've recently put Sky Safari on my phone after really good reviews and I've already got Stellarium on which I love, I've had Stellarium a few years now but I'm wondering if Sky Safari is better and it seems that you use it with ASIair which I'm going to get soon. Not sure now which is the preferred app to have or is it just a personal taste of which to have. Clear skies outside so going to do a bit of visual 👍

  3. Apologies for  the error, I bought the dummy battery off Amazon and made sure that it was for my Canon 700d which i have used several times and works ok. I have returned the Dew Heater control and dslr charger because I am now about to purchase the ASIair. Meanwhile I have seen your reply regarding an 'On The Go' portable battery pack for dslrs and have purchased one so hopefully it will connect up.

    Thanks for the advice btw.

  4. My camera is a Canon 700d modified, lens is a Canon 70-210 f4 but I'm now coupling it to a WO Megrez 72 with a Moonlite focusser fitted. I have the Star Adventurer which I've had about 10 years now but I think I've got PA issues. I use a Velbon tripod which is quite sturdy. I feel the wedge and ASIair Pro are going to improve my next imaging sessions. As I've said previously I am relatively new to this sort of imaging as in DSO - I've imaged conjunctions, eclipses etc, over the years so this is a whole new ball game to me, it's great to get info off this great forum though.

  5. Thanks, folks, for quick and informative replies. I'm going to purchase the wedge for my Star Adventurer for better pa and general usage! Which brings me onto my second query which is going for the ASIAIR pro, does it connect up to the Star Adventurer which has an auto guiding outlet on it, if it does then I will go for it!

    Cheers, anyway.

  6. Hi all, a bit of advice please. I am seriously considering purchasing the Asiair pro bundle that FLO have  on their website at £510, but know very little about guiding and plate solving etc, also I am looking at the newish Wedge by William Optics for the Star Adventurer at £189 which seems to have very good ratings for improved performances, we are talking about £339 of equipment which is a lot of money - is it money worth spending! Any advise is welcome.

    Cheers,

    John

  7. Thanks for that, I will give it another go, finding that imaging is really challenging  and still finding my way around Gimp. I have to have a session on visual observing occasionally to bring myself round a bit but that's the fun of astronomy, there's always something new, I am looking forward to the partial eclipse of the sun in June !!

  8. Hi and welcome to this brilliant forum. As the previous message has said there are loads of knowledgeable astronomers here with lots of information to give out so just ask!
