  1. Well, I joined in - I wonder if it heard us? :-)
  2. To celebrate the Juno spacecraft flyby of Earth, Nasa has a 'say Hi to Juno' event planned. Starting tonight 9/10/13 at 7pm BST (6pm UTC). Details here:- http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/hijuno/
  3. I should be there early too, probably go up in the afternoon to spend some time playing on the radio as well.
  4. I'll be there, but may be a bit late.
  5. Those clouds did appear Mike, but the wind was blowing so strongly that they didn't hang around long. Arctic conditions, but the sky cleared up nicely and I got some great views of the comet alongside Andromeda. Mission accomplished!
  6. Hey Mike, I'm up at BlAenavon right now - the wind is blowing gale force here. I'm glad I just brought my bins!
  7. Finally - a decent observing night! Great to catch up with everyone, hopefully we'll be able to get together again soon. Special thanks to 'Lenny's Catering Supplies' for the bread pudding. Spent most of the time looking at Jupiter & Orion Nebula which were both looking great. Enjoyable night, even though a bit chilly - had to scrape the windscreen before I left. Looking forward to the next one..........
  8. Ok - car is loaded, I shall be there! Looking forward to my first opportunity for a decent viewing session since the Pencelli star party. It's really been that long!
  9. I got mine from Amazon :- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zippo-Handwarmer-High-Polished-Chrome/dp/B0034C6GDG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352916906&sr=8-1 Slightly cheaper but they've gone up in price by £3 since I got mine earlier this year (April). Winter prices!
  10. It's the Zippo one I have Steve, no charcoal - just fill it with lighter fluid. Toasty!
  11. I think it can be cured as long as it hasn't spread to your colon.
  12. There's only one Brecon! I think you mean the Beacons, as in The Brecon Beacons. Not sure about locations myself, but I'm sure someone will have some suggestions for you.
  13. Good to see everyone this weekend - I'm still drying my kit though! Who'd have thought dew could be so wet, eh? I've just uploaded the 'mugshots' and other snaps I took; here:- http://www.pbase.com/maljohns/star_party_oct_2012
  14. It's absolutely persisting down here now! :Envy:
