What size do you actually need and how much gap needs to be taken up if you use the 10" rings?
30mm...so something like 15mm of a gap all round.

Hello all I have an ota that is really difficult to find tube rings that fit,for example SW rings to fit an 8" ota are you small...rings to fit a10" ota are you big.
I thought I would buy the 10" rings and someway try and pack the inside with something to make them fit, maybe 15mm hard rubber strip...any ideas what could work.
Thanks Paul.

Panic over. I had a friend who helped me carry the boxes off the pallet and into the house. He also cut the straps and opened the boxes for me while I was in the toilet. He said that he only threw a piece of packing in the bin outside. When he told me that on the phone I immediately went to the bin and retrieved it. Lo and behold nestled inside what indeed does look like packing were the missing parts. I asked him “ didn’t the suspected packing seem heavy to you?”. He simply shrugged his shoulders. Now to assembly. Thanks.
With friends like that..who needs enemies...😁😁

Hello all, thinking about maybe buying the essential version of this scope.
I currently own a 102ed doublet with 3" focuser, which I have been and still am very pleased with, would it be a good idea to change to the ES triplet...any advice greatly appreciated.

Do your 8 second subs give you a non-blown out core and separation of Trapezium stars when un-stretched? If so, maybe HDR compression would still work. Not sure what post-processing tools you use and whether this is an option?
Yes a bit blown out,I use APP...actually just came across 2,4,6,8 and 10 sec subs I must have done earlier in the month and the 2 sec clearly shows the Trapezium so will give it one last try with shorter subs.

Can never get this right, always burning out the core so I tried 8 sec subs around 450 of them still the same....🥴 Any way probably won't give it another go.
