  1. When you picking the mirror back up Damian?
  2. Mirror looking good Damian, bet you can't wait to get it back and get on with the figuring! That is a cool video Raymond, I'm looking forward to seeing Damian's rotating table now!
  3. Great stuff buddy. Takes some pressure off you now to think about the rest of the build. A change is as good as a rest and when you get it back I'm sure you'll be ready to figure it like a pro. John has been a great mentor and help to you, and I'm sure he'll also help you on successfully figuring the monster mapstar mirror. (See that... some alliteration there, always thinking about educating ) That polishing machine looks to be moving fast as well for some reason I thought it would go slowly.
  4. Oh, that sounds exciting Damian! Look forward to the update and the new build thread.
  5. Great effort buddy, and good to speak to you earlier you certainly sound like you have a renewed steel in your mind to defeat this beast of a mirror and bring it back under your control... You CAN tame it (sorry going all Ron there for a minute)! However it is great to sense that your determination has come back with a vengeance though Damian and we are all willing you on. Good luck mate.
  6. Now the TDE is gone and you have a solid course of action! Excellent work buddy and good luck this week with the 400. Keep us posted!
  7. Damian well said and you have all our support I imagine! Back to the above images. The ronchi image at the bottom doesn't seem to be showing much TDE is it gone or am I reading it wrong?
  8. Never mind a doctor you need to be a saint... Perseverance, patience and resilience all in one. You will get it done buddy, the dob monster will rise at your hands
  9. You're already making a good job of it Damian, but it seems you are missing the vital ingredient...Brasso! Can't believe John didn't tell you you needed this
  10. He won't be able to Mike he'll be at the back of the queue behind all of us vying for a gander!
  11. Yes less of the polos! it's a dob your making not a
  12. You've gone from a Trebor mint to a polo mint! Keep banging in there buddy remember slowly slowly catchy monkey!
  13. Great going bitnick, but I bet you could get it even cheaper... Cheap Webcams in ASDA in UK go for about £7, €12, these are easily modded as well
  14. Never mind the beer think we'll all break out the champagne Mark. It will def need a celebration!
  15. Here here Ron, think we all agree with your sentiments!
  16. The Trebor mint is back again buddy! Unbelievable how much the hill stands out, but be careful with that smaller lap!
  17. I was going to say those must be fingerprints as the edge didn't look like that last time I saw it buddy! Was a bit worried that you had managed some chips, glad you haven't!
  18. I'm sure you'll easily do the centre Damian. Let's hope John sees the improvement on the TDE that you need buddy.
  19. I agree the edge is certainly looking like it's almost gone... Hill looks strange but that is an easier fix. Well done buddy
  20. As you've always said Damian, central hills are easier to correct that a TDE. Have a well earned break buddy!
  21. Aye no cracks please! The TDE looks like it is moving Damian. Great set of images.
  22. Look forward to seeing them Damian
  23. Think we all will David. How's the TDE going now Damian, more progress I hope
  24. I agree with Beulah, this is Damian's thread for his mirror grind and we are here to see how he gets on. I am sure I rotating tables are very interesting but if you want to discuss rotating tables please start a new thread and we can follow there if we are interested. Cheers for the brew today Damain, the mirror is looking amazing!
  25. The edge is def on the move Damian. As for the middle... Well that just looks weird, but you already told me that and I know you can get that to where it needs to be, so well done on the progress, the end is getting closer.
