Hello,
Currently I am looking for some information on solar wedges, I have heard that they are quite safe and that they are very similar to each other, I have seen that there are Lunt, Baader and Lacerta, Altair ... as main brands, maybe there are others.
I have read that Lacerta has a special characteristic, the angle in 56.6 degrees that the prism presents, will you notice a difference in the solar image in relation to those that present the prism at 90º?
I would also like to ask you, apart from the ND3 filter, which filters are worth putting in the sun wedge? I have read that if a polarizer, that if a solar continuum, that if another of lower density neutral density ... in short, a whole mess for me that I have never had a solar wedge ..., I want it for visual observation!
Ah ... I forgot, is it true that 1.25 "wedges are only valid for refractor telescopes up to 4"? and the 2 "ones for refractors up to 175mm?
Thanks in advance for your valuable advice.
Cheers,

Hello
Currently I have a C8 with which I observe the Moon, the planets and some very bright Messier, this is what I can observe from my little corner of observation, which is from where I usually observe, the planets and the Moon are the most apparent objects, Lately I am thinking if it is worth changing the C8 for some refractor that would give me better lunar and planetary images, the truth is that with the Moon I have no complaints, the image is very good, I observe with binoviewers, but with the planets I do not have So lucky, I have a hard time getting an enlarged and stable image..that is why I would like to ask you if it is really worth changing the C8 for an 80ED or an ED100 refractor..for visual planetary and Moon.
Very kind for your comments.

Hello
I would like to know what diameter a refractor must have to be able to observe the solar granulation well, with a solar wedge?
I have observed with a 3 "and 4" refractor and full aperture filter, and an 8 "SCT and I have never never been able to observe this granulation ...
Thanks.Tico. -
Thanks for your reply.
And what such result has it given compared to the previous refractor? better resolution and images of solar granulation?
Best regards. -
johninderby,
How well has the Hershel prism given you?
Have you been able to get a sharp image with medium magnification? Can you observe solar granulation?
I ask it because I have a refractor like this and I am thinking of doing solar observation with it.
Thanks and best regards,

Hello,
I´m looking for a barlow lens or a Powermate for high magnification with my ED80 F/7.5, which is best for this purpose?
Or maybe one short focal eyepiece of 3-4mm best?
Thank you.

Yes, thank you John!!

Hello,
I'm looking for advice on which refractor model can give better results in planetary observation, I'm looking for one between 3 "and 4" in diameter ... I don't know if an achromatic with a long focal length is better or if one with ED or APO lenses. ..
I would be delighted to hear your opinions and advice.
PS: I have ever observed by some Newton or SC and the images are very unstable, very shaky, they lack as contrast ...
Thank you very much.

Yes, is the Bresser 102/460 with ¿ED? lens ? Is one fantaastic wide field for low magnifications, 4.7º in the field can be great ...
Thanks for all comments!!

Hello,I was looking for some advice on a good wide angle eyepiece, about 30mm, although I am not very clear if it is better to 82º or 72º ... I would like it to give about 5º of field .., one day I looked at a 31mm Nagler and I did not like it very much. feeling of having to move my head to see the end of the field, that is, at a glance I could not see the entire field ...
My telescope is a 4 "/ 460 FL refractor.
Thanks.

Hello,
Has anyone used the Nikon P900 (or the latest P900) for observation and photography of the Moon and some planets, ISS?
Also planespottting and birds?
Thanks

Peter, the Sky Watcher 2X Barlow is 1.25" or 2" ?
Thanks

In Europe how much the basic BF5 model ? when ?

For example, a binoviewer with one PST is a good option ?

Exactly , it´s not for pure astronomy, but for casual observing the Moon (cuasi the unique object visible in MY sky) and observing planes (my other passion), I have used one refractor and spotting scopes 45º but no like me, inclined vision and one eye ..ummmm!!
Thanks

Hi,
Anyone have used some "good" zoom binocular ?
Thanks,

Yes, the truth is that I give many (too many) turns to things, I think I suffer "paralysis by analysis" ..., I have not just decided ... and the truth is that I do not have any test option ..., sorry if you felt offended.

Hello,
I would like to consult you the following subject: I would like to start in the solar observation H alpha, and I ´ve not very clear which telescope I can be better, if the PST 40 DS or the Lunt 60 B1200, I would use it for visual observation.
I currently do not have a refractor telescope, so I do not wanna ask for the Daystar chromosphere model.
Is there a difference between the two models?
Any clear advantage over each other?
Thank you very much .

Available but Meade doesn't produce it anymore?

Hello,
Is the Coronado PST 40 really discontinued?
I ask it because a store specialized in telescopes told me a week ago ... that is, does Meade no longer produce it?
Thank you

Really, for the expense involved, is it worth exchanging the B400 for the B600 if it is exclusively for visual?
How much more field can we get? 1/2 º?
If the L35 has 400mm of focal length, the B400 would allow obtaining 1º of maximum field, right?
Usually, what magnification can this solar telescope hold up well?
Cheers

A question: the colour of the visual image in the PST 40 is the same that in the Lunt 50 ? red? or red in the PST and he orange in the Lunt 50 ?
Thanks.

Hello,I have been able to observe a lot with a PST 40, and a little lately with a Lunt 50 B600, visually always, not photographically ...
In my opinion, the photographic images of the sun made with both telescopes have nothing to do with what I have been able to see visually ..., always in favor of photographic images ...
Cheers

The current models also suffer from this problem?
