  1. Great advice. I know the general area as I've pointed stellarium a few times to find out but unfortunately I've not had clear skies yet. Supposed to be crystal clear tonight though according to the weather apps so fingers crossed.
  2. Brilliant response mate. Thanks so much for the help. Yes it has a red dot finder and I use stellarium so know the basics area. I didn't know I would be able to use the 6mm as I thought so that's great to know. Thanks again.
  3. Hi all, some advice needed. Only had my scope a few weeks. Heritage 130p. Have managed a few nights getting to grips with it in-between the clouds and rain. I'm really interested in locating the pons brooks comet and viewing. My eyepieces are the 10mm and 25mm that came with the scope also I've bought a skywatcher 32mm and 6.3mm. which would you say to find and observe. Or would I find then change to look closer? Thanks in advance.
  4. Managed a v quick snap of Jupiter through the eyepiece before the cloud came. Clear as a bell but by the time I got setup clouds started to creep across the sky. I thought I was actually going to get a few hours as well.
  5. Pretty new to astronomy and owning a scope. Going through older posts and your name popped out at me so thought I'd say hi. Up the whites. I'm nearby in Hindley.
  6. So I've had the scope for 2 weeks tomorrow and it's been cloudy or wet every single night 😭
  7. That's brilliant. I put mine in a pint pot and put it on a 1min exp exposure for this shot of me and Orion.
  8. Awesome effort. I'm hoping to try something similar when this week's nightshifts end. Hopefully clear skies for my time off πŸ‘Œ did you have a phone mount on a telephone or just handheld?
  9. I hadn't but now have, very interesting stuff. Thanks.
  10. No link. Just meant seen these in general. Green light pointers.
  11. Hi all, saw these and thought what a great idea for showing friends and family exactly what to look at instead of finger pointing and trying to describe whereabouts to look for them to say I can't see what your looking at. Any good cheap ones knocking around. Loads on Amazon and eBay but just unsure if they're any good. Cheers for any help.
  12. 2 pics from a clear night last week. Used a 1min exposure on my Xiaomi Mi 11.

    Hello mate πŸ‘
  14. I've just purchased one of these as well but still waiting for delivery. Can't wait to get observing.
  15. Thanks for all the help guys really appreciated
  16. Yes I've seen the PTFE and light shroud trick and will be doing those to get the best out of this little gem. Thanks all.
  17. Well after getting my 1st telescope from eBay a few weeks ago for Β£20 and having fun I've decided the76mm astrolux isn't good enough for me so I've just ordered a shiny new skywatcher heritage 130p. After reading and watching lots of guides and reviews this sounds like the scope for me. Just waiting for delivery and some clear nights to begin observing. The 2 main things in my head for some reason are the Orion nebula and Saturn with it's rings.
  18. Hi mate, I'm a newbie here and already had lots of advice. You'll be made most welcome. I'm in Wigan so not too far away.
  19. No brackets missing and seems pretty stable without was just so it's complete if I sell on as I have the big already
