    Hello mate 👍
  2. I've just purchased one of these as well but still waiting for delivery. Can't wait to get observing.
  3. Thanks for all the help guys really appreciated
  4. Yes I've seen the PTFE and light shroud trick and will be doing those to get the best out of this little gem. Thanks all.
  5. Well after getting my 1st telescope from eBay a few weeks ago for £20 and having fun I've decided the76mm astrolux isn't good enough for me so I've just ordered a shiny new skywatcher heritage 130p. After reading and watching lots of guides and reviews this sounds like the scope for me. Just waiting for delivery and some clear nights to begin observing. The 2 main things in my head for some reason are the Orion nebula and Saturn with it's rings.
  6. Hi mate, I'm a newbie here and already had lots of advice. You'll be made most welcome. I'm in Wigan so not too far away.
  7. No brackets missing and seems pretty stable without was just so it's complete if I sell on as I have the big already
  8. Yeah the moon was spot on. I have the 10mm the 25mm wide angle and the 2x Barlow it came with. I must try harder. The moon was very bright last night though, could have hindered my views.
  9. Yes I read that the other day, very interesting. I set it up in the day and have had for 2 nights brilliant crisp images of the moon. Craters and such in detail. Managed a glimpse of Jupiter but only a slightly bigger dot than with the naked eye. Looked at Betelgeuse last night and was trying for the Orion nebula but to no avail. I'll keep at it after all the advice on here.
  10. Thanks for the reassurance. My plan is to upgrade if I stick at it for a while. Just needed to know they weren't just bigging it up. I've watched loads of videos which is why I got hooked. Something I'd never thought about before but a few vids and I was like, wow. The moon looks amazing through it but like you say perhaps my back garden isn't the ideal place to view from. Thanks again.
  11. Hi all, total newbie here that only bought a telescope last week. Off eBay a Astrolux 76/700. £20. The blurb on a website says this, This complete telescope package has 76mm optics that will show hundreds of lunar craters in addition to the rings of Saturn and polar ice caps on Mars. Brighter galaxies and nebulae are also well within the reach of this affordable Newtonian telescope. IS this a truthful statement and are things like this actually visa le with this scope. I struggled and failed to see the Orion nebula last night.
  12. Hi all, bought this telescope on eBay for £20. Had a v quick session earlier and the moon was amazing. Any advice on a good eyepiece for planets and some deep space objects? If I enjoy I will be upgrading but just getting into it first.
  13. Hi all. Just bought my 1st telescope, skywatcher astrolux 76,700 for £20 off eBay. Not had weather to use it yet. Anywhere I could get the latitude rod as this is the only bit missing. Cheers for any help.
