  1. I have ES82 14mm for my SCT 8 inch. To me this is fantastic and is my best/favourite ep to use in Cyclops mode. I mainly use Binoviewer now and BST Starguiders are my go to. Using both eyes for me is far superior both visually and for comfort.
  2. Thanks, would 200 be best choice or should 250/150 work just as well for me
  3. Hi, I'm considering getting a dobsonian. My current scope is LX90 ACF 8 inch. I don't really want to get anymore ep's. The ones I have work great for me with my SCT. I have Full set of BST Starguiders most doubled up for BV. Full set of Meade 4000 Super Plossl ES82 14mm ES68 34mm SVBony red line 20mms And a few others Would these work well with Stella Lyra 8inch/Sky-Watcher Classic 200P Dobsonian at f5.9 or 150/250? Thanks
  4. I use 8mm BST Starguiders in Binoviewer and for me they are great, no problems with merging or eye relief and they are very comfortable, observing with these is effortless.
  5. Im all set at that range (I think?) with my ES68(maxivision) 34mm. For me with my set up this is fantastic.
  6. It would allow me to view a slightly larger piece of the sky at a lower magnification.
  7. I have just noticed these https://www.firstlightoptics.com/ursa-major-eyepieces/ursa-major-fmc-flatfield-eyepiece-25mm.html Would this be to similar to what I already have? I'm still thinking uff 24mm or es68 24mm would be better option.
  8. I think Altair is stainless steel nose piece. I have all my Starguiders eye cups twist/turn 3 -4 times for best comfort/experience for me and normally hardly ever adjust. They are probably just over half way up. I will need to twist down 25mm to see what eye relief is like in that position.
  9. Thanks, I was trying to look for weight of Altair option. It was hyperion for wider fov. Morpheus would be better optically.
  10. Thank you. 24mm uff looks great on the ruler matrix . My 25mm Starguider not so good. If I struggle with long eye relief with my 32mm plossl, would that be similar case with 24 uff?
  11. Thank you for your help so far. It seems this version of uff is best priced in UK @£109 https://www.altairastro.com/altair-24mm-ultraflat-eyepiece---precision-barrel-stainless-steel-237-p.asp With field stop of uff being 27.66 mm compared to 27.2mm, of ES does this mean UFF will have a slightly larger /very similar fov? I thought UFF was 65 and ES68?
  12. I'm looking for an upgrade eyepiece for my LX90 ACF 8inch at 24mm to get maximum fov for 1.25 fitting. I do not wear glasses. Currently i have BST Starguider and Meade 4000 SP 32mm. I don't really get on with the Meade Plossl, I struggle with eye placement with this eyepiece. Optically it is great. I am willing to spend up to £200 new for this. I am thinking about either ES68 24mm Stella Lyra(APM, Altair, Celestron) UF 24mm , Baader Hyperion 24mm I do use a 2 inch diagonal with 1.25 adaptor so it is an easy switch. My only 2inch is ES 68 34mm which I find stunning. Would I be better looking at 20mm 2 inch such as Stella LYRA 80/Founder optics or stick with my original 1.25 upgrade idea. Thanks.
  13. I use SCT version of this. https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/antares-2-99-dielectric-twist-lock-mirror-diagonals.html For me this has been excellent and a fantastic upgrade from where I was at. The twist lock is really very good.
  14. The Duplex Moon Atlas is a great resource for matching orientation to your scope if you are will to stick with left right reversed images. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/books/duplex-moon-atlas-the-next-generation-lunar-atlas-by-ronald-stoyan.html I do think this recommended by Stu may be a better choice than the one I have and think I will be upgrading to this soon. My field map is really convenient/light. I often tuck under arm or bend it over and tuck in in handles of mount. Also, have you tried without diagonal and attached eyepiece directly to your ota. It can be a little uncomfortable but it may help on your final decision.
  15. Unless correct orientation through eyepiece is a must. I use this and find it excellent. https://shopatsky.com/products/mirror-image-field-map-of-the-moon
