I have used pixinsight but why does it take so long to stack compared to DSS i mean its massively longer.....maybe it does a better job ? My main PC is quite powerful ,i did a stack last night to try it again with ,darks ,dark flats and flats and 5 hours of 3 min subs ,inc separating the RGB and then recombine all with 1x drizzle it took just over 1 hour ...!!!

per channel background calibration settings for osc camera in deep sky stacker ? not too sure on the correct settings in this as there are a few options ,i use pixinsight to process the image afterwards if this makes any difference.

I spent today in pixinsight processing some data I took on sat .I honestly could see no difference in the final image with no calibration frames at all...I tried all different combinations inc dark dark flats and flats and left them all out but could see real difference.,,,,,

I've just bought one B4 size so it fits my 8 inch edgehd as well .the good thing is its its got a short built in lead with a 5.5mm socket on so hope it lasts better ,very common fault on most led light pads the loose socket. just used the Nina flats wizard for the first time, got first light last night finally with my new 533mc pro. 180 s subs look very detailed compared to my canon 60d (modified). got 5 hours on NGC 7000 using optolong L extreme filter. made a dark library at -10 the same as what I shot at. so tried to use the NINA flat wizard using a light panel.....it seemed to work ok ,the dark flats look nice the flats look patchy and green is this normal (never taken flats before ) see attached pictures. I also left the filter in place whilst I took these flats ,I'm guessing for the dark library filters don't matter ?

How can i get the weather in NINA ..i see there are a few options in the dropdown but says something about an API key ? no idea what this is never tried it before.

Is it possible to do daytime meridian flips in NINA..... if so how ?

So got my new zwo533mc pro i thought i would do a sharpcap sensor analysis as its cloudy and i can't test it . i was expecting the optimal gain to about 100 but unless i've done something wrong it's 460 ! see attached pictures of my results .i followed various youtube videos but something does not seem right.

ok I think I may have sussed out the issue .....phd 2 .....is the culprit I believe .when I was connecting all of the devices in NINA I realised after reading something from a couple of years ago on cloudy nights.......phd2 can get confused if you have more than one zwo camera on the setup ,sure enough I checked and it had auto checked the main camera as the guide camera ,did it every time .so there is a toggle to swap the cameras as in the picture ..i guess ive never had the issue before as both cameras different makes ,now they are the same it caused this issue .

Ok chaps i have been testing on my asi 224 camera and i get the same error most of the time ...sometimes if i disconnect the camera and reconnect it works .......found the usb limit tried on 100 amd at 40 where it was makes no difference i still get the 2 error messages....😏 any ideas .ive tried both usb ports on the dell laptop.

I guess i can cut my long dew straps down to keep it neat with the powerbox advance ... problem is with the moulded plugs on my lynx astro straps what is positive tip or outside ? i have some quality RCA plugs here i can use.

I wish to make up a new short cable for the EQ6R pro mount to the powerbox advance. see picture for what i have .the 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug for the powerbox is positive tip. unsure if i need to put the positive wire to number 1 or 2 on the mount plug.

Many thanks ,the camera has stopped altogether wont even power on so its getting collected tomorrow. will get a refund and then see what to get ,i am so unlucky with new kit it's unbelievable... thanks for the advice .

i think it may be a camera issue ,,it works fine when nothing plugged into the rear usb ports ....ive tried direct into the pc same issue.

Just setting up my new powerbox advance tonight with the new zwo 533mc pro.and try as i might i cannot get the camera to take an image when connected to any of the usb 3.0 ports.. i've tried different leads and still the same, the camera works fine into usb 3.0 ports in my computer.....the camera is recognised in nina and cools but when i take a shot i get the following error. looks like i may have a lemon.... .

Nothing wrong with those numbers blimey.... What was your tweaking process? First thing i did was to loosen the RA and the Dec nuts way too tight from factory ,causing stiction. then remove both drive belts. the tricky bit that is time consuming is adjusting the worm drive gears for backlash ,just kept making tiny tiny adjustments until when turning the the belt cog it's just tight enough to not cause binding .you can feel it when its too tight,there will be parts of the cycle when its tighter as the brass drum that mates up to the worm drive is not a perfect perfect cylinder i guess.the dec is easier as its smaller lighter .the RA is harder to turn anyway ,i used a drill bit to turn the cog like in a video i will link.just takes a bit of fiddling . one issue is you cannot test it until you get a clear night so it could be frustrating especially where we live !!! watch this video from about 30 mins in ...that's what did basically. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEgkPA-Cd84
