Bright meteor or Fireball at 20:08 on 16 Feb

I was wondering if anyone had seen the same object as I did last night.  It was at the same time as the second visible ISS pass last night.  I was already looking to the west for the ISS when I saw A really bright meteor/fireball in a WSW direction.  It was quite low and headed diagonally down to the right lasting about 1.5s before I lost site of it behind a building.  I observed this from Corby in Northants.

I know there was another sighting on the 15th at about 18:30 but I definitely saw something last night.  Someone on twitter saw a meteor at the same time, did anyone else observe this?

My sister text me last night about 8pm saying she'd seen a "nasty looking meteor" she's not far outside Reading so maybe the same event or something from the same debris.

Was it in a wsw direction?

I will text her tomorrow and ask, from the direction you suggest and google maps she would probably have had to have seen it from the front garden for it to qualify.

I saw a bright meteor or fireball over Earls Barton Northampton on Either Friday 14th or Saturday 15th Feb 2014 about this time. It was very bright and lasted about 2 seconds . It looked similar to the Russian  meteorite

I definitely saw this on Sunday 16th. Another thread has reports from the 15th at 1830hrs.

I caught the Sunday 16th one around 18:30hrs as I was setting up in the observatory, which was very bright and appeared to be flaming.   It cast a marked shadow of my OTA on the observatory wall.

There seems to have been a few of these bright ones recently is there any link between them?

There was a satellite due to burn up a few days ago and a near earth asteroid due too. Maybe something got through unnoticed? Or maybe bits of ISON?

Just read that the near earth asteroid was not where it was predicted to be and it is still being searched for. Hmmm

My sister confirmed it was as I stated above and "scary" was because of the fireball aspect.
