Hyperion 17mm Eypiece with fine tuning rings vs 13mm comparison?

I'm looking for an eypeice in the 13-15mm range and thinking about a 13mm hyperion which I have owned previously. I know that the 17mm hyperion will give me approx 14mm focal length with a set of fine tuning rings fitted.

Does anyone have a view of the quality through the 17mm with the FTR's vs the 13mm hyperion? Can I really buy the 17mm and get two for one?

I have been pleased with my 8mm hyperion with the tuning rings fitted notching it down to 5mm or so.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Hi Paul,

The 17 and 13 both are great but the fine tuning rings does have a effect on the view, the fov seems to push out past the eyecup so lowering the eye relief, the only one that i found doesnt have such bad effects is the 21mm but they with the FTR its a beast

Thanks for that Colin, I have a 21mm also so maybe I'll look for a used 13mm. The 21mm stops down to around 17mm with the FTR's and sounds like it's not effected too much.
