Red stars?

I was looking at a red variable star in Leo and that got me thinking what is the brightest dark red star?

I don't quite know if it's the brightest, but a favourite of mine is Herschel's Garnet Star in Cepheus - a particularly great sight in binoculars.

R Leporis (Hind's Crimson Star) was really good, but you'll have a while to wait for that now. I suppose Y CVn (La Superba) is the most prominent right now that I know of. Herschel's Garnet Star and CE Tauri are good in binoculars.

Truthfully I don't find any of these dark red. They look more carrot coloured. They make me think of a warm campfire maybe.
