Orion Star Trails

Composite of 200 30 second exposures (ISO1000 @ F4) using a 10mm wide lens. The trails are interupted at times due to cloud (see 'And the clouds rolled in......' thread). Composite made using Startrails program.

pretty intense. how come they are so white? also I notice something like scan lines across the image top to bottom.

pretty cool though nonetheless. Star trails are what really got me into this medium.

Don't know why the stars are so white- the 'scan lines' is noise from pushing the camera CCD to ISO 1000. I could maybe eliminate this by shooting at slower ISO speed next time.

gotcha I'm not familiar with CCD cameras so I've never seen it before. now i know!

regardless I like the image.
