DSLR questions....

Recommended Posts

I've just received my new (to me) second hand Canon 1000d which I hope to start using to learn the AP basics.

Two quick questions:

What size SD card to you think I need?

I do not have a software disk so can I just download some (hopefully) free AP specific capture software or do I need Canon drivers?

Thanks,

John

John, I generally use a 2Gb card with my 450d for Astro use. That still holds over 150 (I think) images even using raw format. You don't need the Canon software, although EOSUtils is the one if you want to remote control the camera from a PC. The other options are nebulosity 2, the free version will do the job, or Astro Photography Tool Again, the free version will do the job.
