First moon shot

This is the first time I've tried photographing the moon through a telescope. There's work to do, but it's not too bad:

That's brilliant for a first go. What camera and scope were you using?

Excellent for a first go Ian... Drop the ISO to 100 though, you really don't need it that high for the moon, even at f/15 and 1.2m, there's no problem with the movement at relatively long exposures (ok, 1/10 isn't really long but you know what I mean ) Use spot metering, and aim for about 2/3 to 1 stop under exposed.

Thanks guys. It's an EOS 50D on a Skywatcher Explorer 200p.

I tried a lower ISO at first, but 800 seemed to work best. I'll persevere.

I think thats very good Ian. Like above can you let us know what equipment you used as i have not taken any photos yet and would like to have a go.

I guess you might have been suffering from the seeing, and the higher shutter speed the ISO gave you allowed you to overcome it somewhat.
