UV/IR Cut and LP filters

They are filters for different purposes.

UV/IR filters are for imaging, as most refractor (including apos) will not be corrected for UV or IR. Star images will appears bloated as the optics cannot bring these wavelength into focus at the same point as visible light. Since your eyes are not sensitive to those wavelength, if you are a visual observer, the UV/IR filter will do nothing.

LP (light pollution) filters are designed to block out certain wavelengths associated with street light, thus improving contrast. The price of LP filter varies with Skywatcher LPS about £30, whereas an IDAS LP filter cost about the same as a premium eyepiece. Here is a thread comparing three LP filters:
