Using a field flattener

When I bought my scope I also purchased a SkyWatcher field flattener. This, coupled with T-Ring is what I use to attach my DSLR to the scope. Is the FF likely to have an effect on lunar images? Would I bet better off with a straightforward 2" adaptor instead and only use the FF for other imaging?

Hi.

If you are using a fairly small scope then the field would be quite wide with the image of the Moon correspondingly small in the center of the frame, so you shouldn't need the FF in place.

Don't forget also that the more glass you have between the object and the camera, the greater the chance of the image being degraded.
