Not sure what adaptor thing is! Help

Recommended Posts

I have a new Explorer 150p which came with some sort of adapter. Fits snugly into the 2" focuser after removing the 1.25 adaptor and is approx 2" long.

However it has internal thread on end that goes into scope but the other end has 2 thumb screws and no thread. I have no idea what its for? Is it something to aid the attachment of DSLR? If so how? Surely a T ring is threaded or does it just fit into the adaptor and held with the screws?

Or is it to move the 1.25" further from the scope? (although I don't know why you would :))

Any advice help greatly recieved

Thanks

I have the 130 and have one too..I believe it changes the focuser into being able to accept 2" eyepieces rather than 1.25", if it's the bit I'm thinking of.

The two thumbscrews are what secure the eyepiece just like on the 1.25"
