Skywatcher Skymax 90

Hi all,

I have a Horizon 8115 2-Way Heavy Duty Tripod. If I purchased a 'Skywatcher Skymax 90 or 102 ota' would this telescope fit onto this tripod and would it give me a steady enough view?

Owned the 90, but not the 102 but it was only about 1.25kg or thereabouts. No problems.

What did you think of the 90?

i have a mak90 and it fits well, the 102 would be better as it is bigger and it is the biggest mak with the fitting for the mount.

you will not be disappointed with either but go for the 102 if you can, you will gather more light

I've got a Skymax 90, did think of selling it, but it's a superb little scope, great on the Moon, holds collimation dead on, nice crisp views and a smooth focusser. The best bit is it just pops in a little backpack for holiday use.
