2" to 1.25" eyepiece adaptor

Hi,

I have the Skywatcher dual speed low profile crayford focuser for my dob. The 2" to 1.25" adapter that comes with the focuser is not easy to use as it is very tight and difficult to insert and remove 1.25" eyepieces. I see on the astronomica site that they have low profile and long profile adaptors. What is the advantage of the long profile adaptor?

The Low Profile Adapter is for 2" eyepiece holders with a recess for the retaining bolt. The retaining bolt on the adapter appears to be in the 2" barrel rather than on the lip
