Marcus daniel
Hi all, just a quicky, could you help please, filters..... If im correct a red filter is mainly for sun viewing and green ideally for the moon. What and when would i use the other variations of colours. Are they just used for imaging??Thank you in advanceMarcus:)
Psychobilly
DONT VIEW THE SUN THROUGH A RED FILTER... or any EP filter...For solar viewing you will need to use a filter made with Baader Solar film on the front of the scope...
Paxo
Please do not use any coloured filter to view the sun, you will irreversably damge your eyesight.Only specialist filters should be used to view the sun, these go over the objective end of the scope,as Peter has already mentioned, something like Baader film, these cut out over 99% of the harmful rays which WILL damage your eyesight.Coloured filters are primarily used to bring out details in planetary viewing/imaging.
