Asteroid
Ok....i ordered the Nexstar 4SE, but there was a problem with stock levels so my order got cancelled And now, the prices seem to have gone up everywhere else. However, i was offered an alternative scope, the Celestron Nexstar 127 SLT.I know its a better scope, but a not so good mount.Does anyone know the weight capicity of the mount and if it would be stable enough for astrophotography?Do i go with the 127, or wait untill mid march for the 4SE? (although the status on the website is now call for prices so im guessing they're putting the price up too)
Steep
What makes the 4se mount better Asteroid? they seem pretty similar to me (happy 127 owner).

rowan46
to be honest none of the nexstar mounts are great for astrophotography the next ones up the cpc's are quite good except that the camera can hit the base. but visually the slt will be fine and it should be ok for webcamming planets. the se mount is slightly better than the slt mount but theres not an awful lot of difference. as to noise the se is pretty noisy on fast slew
