2.5x or 5x powermate?

I need a new powermate for my solar, lunar and planetary work. For solar photo I have a WO Megrez 72 with a Lunt 50mm front filter. For lunar and planetary photo I have a Celestron 8" EdgeHD SCT. My cameras are a DMK31 and a DBK21.

Should I buy the 2.5x or 5x powermate? Will the 8" with a 5x be to much? Will the Megrez and 2.5x be enough to get detailed solar images?
