Bahtinov Mask Templates

Hi all

Just thought i would let you all know about what i have come across on the internet.

This site has a load of Bahtinov Mask templates of all sizes in pdf format so that you can just print them straight off.

I am in the process of making a 6" one.

Made my own out of a Tesco plastic clipboard! (See DIY section). Cost £1 and I still have a useable clipboard left over!!

I have never tried them before. But they are supposed to be really helpful when trying to focus your dslr.

I am making my 6" one out of an A4 sturdy piece of black card (50p at local shop). If it proves useful i might buy a more sturdier one.

They are exellent! perfect focus every time. Hint: if you want to focus on the Moon or a planet use the Bahnitov to focus on a bright star then lock the focus. Then turn the scope to the desired object. Simples!

Sorry for the dumb question, but i have never used this mask before.

Do you leave the mask on, once you have achieved perfect focus, or do you remove it?

The ones from ebay are very good. I have bought 4 of them now for my different scopes.
