Direct SLR Connection / 2" Adaptor

Hi knowledgeable people! Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

I purchased an all in one adaptor as an alternative to the t-ring setup (as it's claimed there's up to 4mm more light and 6mm more depth using this instead of a t-ring.)

So I set to trying to connect it to my 200P - first off I removed the 1.25" adaptor

and found out that there was no way the adaptor was going to sit in the hole as a 2" eyepiece would (I assume, I don't have a 2" but this looks like the method you would use.)

So I unscrewed the next part of the focusser

and found out that the adaptor will sit in here, but this is not secured in any way. This doesn't seem right?

Please ignore, I've been in touch with the original owner of the scope and there is a 2" eyepiece adaptor that he forgot to give me
