Grab and go mount using ballhead with friction control

I am using my Celestron 102 on my Horizon 8115 tripod. I wonder if it would be much better to replace the tripod head with a ballhead with friction control eg Benro B0 or Phottix KB-0, both rated at 8kg capacity. The 102 would not be more than 3kg even with heavy eyepieces. The set up would allow one to reposition the telescope without unlocking and locking any locks or levers.

Has anyone experience with such a set up?
