Canon 1000d

Hi.

I recently purchased a Canon 1000d dSLR and have been happily snapping away now for about a week during the daytime with the standard 18-55 EFS-IS lens. I've installed the supplied canon software so I can view the RAW images I took, but I cannot see any difference from RAW compared to JPG!!?

Am I doing something wrong? :-\

The jpeg has things like white balance, sharpening amongst others applied in camera...

The Raw images allow for a lot more post processing...

Forgive my ignorance, but what is 'post processing?' :s

"tweaking" the image after its been captured...

For example using "software" to manipulate an image to achieve different effects just like you did in the dark room with film in the good old days... but without any of those nasty chemicals...

I also own a 1000d cameral and have been wondering if there is an attatchement you can get which enables you to take pictures with the camera through your telescope. I have a Sky Watcher Explorer 130.

You need a t-mount and 1.25" adaptor - see the FLO website in the link at the top of the page.
