can any digital camera be used for afocal imaging i have a kodak ZD712 would this be ok if i got a bracket to mount camera to ep

You could indeed use this camera for afocal photography but as it is what is known as a 'bridge camera' (it bridges the gap between a 'compact' camera and a DSLR) is has a fairly large diameter lens which means that your images will suffer from vignetting (a brighter centre with somewhat darker edges). However, careful cropping and post processing will still allow you to take some worthwhile images, especially of the Moon.
