Hi all i am new to astronomy and am buying my first telescope after christmas (sky-watcher explorer 200p (eq5) is this a good ueser friendly scope for a complete novis thank you all

Hi Kevin - welcome to SGL

That's a cracking good first scope you have there. It'll show you most everything you'll want to see and will last a good long time. 8" is a great aperture and the eq-5 is a solid mount.

Now all you have to do is learn the sky. Get "stellarium" free planetaria software download, and a book like "Turn Left At Orion" would be a great investment to get you using it effectively. All the best
