Table Top Tekescope

I have come across a Startravel 80 table top telescope from OVL, does anyone have any experience of these? It seems like an ideal introduction to astronomy for my 5 year old who has asked for a telescope for Christmas.

I bought one from Scopes'n'skies in their bargains. But as it turned out my youngest (7) didn't like the table top mount and instead uses the ST80 on a full size EQ2. I sold the EQ1. He loves the scope. The moon looks great (all be it with a purple fringe) and Jupiter's cloud belts show up nicely. Although it's no lunar/planetary scope by any stretch. A Skymax 90 would have been a better bet but the ST80 was cheap.

I have the Skymax90 on a table top mount and its a great pairing.

And its also hand luggage size so can go on holidays

Scope: Maksutov - Skywatcher Skymax 90 OTA

Mount: Skywatcher - Skywatcher tabletop EQ1 GEQ mount with RA drive and multi-speed hand controller.

Maybe FLO could do a deal if you wanted the table top mount instead of a full size EQ1
