Been Raiding the Cupboards again ! 20x50 Finder

Polar Bear

Recommended Posts

My beloved invested in some new salt and pepper mills so I thought......

a 20 x 50 finder.

Ingredients

  1. Binocular parts from a pair of 20 x 50's (I couldn't collimate them)
  2. A Salt Mill (plastic tube covered in stainless)
  3. The end of a Russian Spotting Scope holder tube
  4. A wide angle door viewer with lens removed.
  5. Screws and Glue
  6. A bad nights seeing (last night)

Salt Mill cleaned and internals removed / drilled out

Adjustable eyepiece and arm drilled through

Russian Tube cut

Focal length sorted

Glued, screwed and painted (internally and externally)

Door scope fitted to pivot hole as sighting tube.

Focus is via the adjustable EP as you would with bins.

Will resolve Jupiter's Moons (just tested it)

Bit of chromatic as you would expect.
