Explorer 150pl v skymax 127 mak

Recommended Posts

:) Ive been looking at these 2 fine scopes the explorer 150pl and the

skymax 127 purely for planetary and moon observing and basic

webcam imaging with the spc 900... any thoughts on the pros

and cons of each.. Im slightly leaning towards the mak on the

supatrak at this moment...

I have both and they are excellent planetary/ lunar scopes. The 127 is more compact and has more focal length, but not as sharp i find as the 150PL. The 150PL is more of an all rounder, but does need a heftier mount due to the long tube length. Its also less portable! The 127 takes much longer to cool as well. I use the 127 for white light solar and the 150PL for planets and lunar. My 150PL is for sale at the moment, not becuase i prefer the 127, but i have just replaced the 150PL with an Intes of same focal length and aperture.
