moon view help

hi guys been to busy to play, so had a go tonight, took a photo on moon with my 127xlt, with camera held in hand, please why is it i can see only craters on moon on far left of my view?? suppose it a silly question,

also looked at jupiter in blackpool till cloud cover and saw three of its moons.

Wow - something I can answer! The side of the moon directly facing the sun is like midday at the equator, so shadows are very small. At the other side the sun casts long shadows so you can see the craters nicely.

it was only taken with a sony cybershot 5.1mp held into the lense, i have took a photo of jupiter, but you cannot see very well, but shows 2 moons. looking forward to proper photography equipment, wish list help needed. what does anybody sugest???
