barlow lens

What magnification factor are you looking at, and what's "not breaking the bank"?

I like the Baader VIP barlow a lot for imaging applications, because the barlow is made out of elements with T2-threads which you can reuse with other Baader adapters. It's also a very good barlow, and its fairly large clear aperture means it can be used with fairly large sensors or even 2" eyepieces without too much vignetting, at least unless you want very small magnification factors, even though it's sold as a 1.25" barlow. I'm using it (with other Baader adapters) as a screw-on barlow on a 21mm Ethos.

But the best bang for the buck if you want a really good barlow is probably one of the Televue barlows.
