strange dark

i was doing some darks today and when i had a look at them i saw this does any one no what this is ?

Assuming its the 500d I would guess that there is some light getting in - maybe through the viewfinder? Did you have a bright source of light nearby?

yes it was in the light at first so i mask up the veiw finder and then put it in a dark place but no still there and then tonight and taking some pics and it started to show 5 picks down the line and then go again

yeah sorry false alarm you are right and there is stray light coming in i just put my phone lit up to the side of the sensor where it is showing and there it showed again i will pack up and look at it thanks sorry to waste your time ian
