Planets Around Neutron Stars Or Pulsar Planets

How can a planet survive around a neutron star or pulsar,you would think the planet would be destroyed by the supernova,the oldest planet found is around 12.6 billion years old.The magnetic fields round these planets must be extreme to say the least.

The pulsar planets probably didn't survive the explosion, they probably formed out of the debris cloud/disc afterwards.

Either that or they're the cores of very massive outer planets that migrated inwards after the supernova
