brantuk
That's great - by all means start a thread and leave a brief intro - you'll be made very welcome (Edit - I've pm'd you)
Aussie
Hey Celeste, can I ask why the GOTO is necessary? If you dropped the GOTO then you would either, get the same scope a lot cheaper or you would be able to spend the extra money on a better/bigger scope. So better views, and more objects to see. It doesn't take long to start locating objects without GOTO.
Celeste
Hi Aussie, the scope is more for my son than me, he's only 9. It would eliminate the search for objects and he won't lose the interest. He's special needs and he doesn't have much patience, shall we say If we didn't use GOTO how would I be able to find objects quickly and precisely? I am useless with maps and navigation in general lol. Brantuk I shall pop over to the group when I am back from taking the boys to school
Aussie
For a 9 year old with little patience, then your right, the GOTO is probably the best option.
Rossco72
Always try for used if you can, the 127Mak and the 4SE are great budget scopes, either will do you in good stead although the 127 does have an extra inch of aperture!
