Would it be okay if i were to attach the IR/UV blocking filter off my webcam onto the end of the direct DSLR adaptor on my ED80.

i.e My Canon T ring attaches to the one end of the adaptor and i fix my IR/UV blocking filter into the opposite end of this adaptor ?

Would that work?

The adaptor i am referring to is as shown in the pics.

When you're imaging through a refractor, you'll need a IR cut filter to cut down on star bloat. Some LP filters have this built in, some don't. It it doesn't, then you can always double stack with an IR cut with the LP filter.

Experiment I guess!

There are Photoshop techniques as well that help. Noel's Actions star reduction is good and for big beggars use a feathered lasso, curves, pin the curve at background level and drag down the curve just above that. Filters-Distort-Pinch is also effective.)
