Anybody have any recomendations on inverters?

Maplins have these http://tinyurl.com/cwr8f which look good to me, especially the 600W!!

The old laptop is only 90W, so will have plenty spare for other goodies..

I don't have a particular recomendation but that looks to be quite a good price.

I have just bought a 110ah 12v marine battery & charger and an 800w power inverter so i do know about the expense bit.

I agree with you that the 600w version would be the best to get then you have more options on what you can choose to

run on it.

Make sure that the leads from the battery have a fuse which is adequately rated about 25% higher than the current you are going to draw from it. A big beefy 12V 110Ah battery can deliver an awful lot of amps and if there is a short circuit and this can do a lot of damage without any fuses in line.
