M27 close-up

Finally I had time to process this image from 10/10/2010. I took advantage on the clear skies here ;-). This image was taken on my Skywatcher 10" Newton scope with Atik314L+ Color CCD + Astronomik CLS filter. Captured 15x120s guided frames in Nebulosity, final tweaking in Photoshop.

That is absolutely lovely. Colour is spot on to my eye and just right on saturation. The nebula looks transparent, too, and I really feel this is what makes a good M27. It sits there in space looking like the shell of coloured diffuse gas that it is.
