How to make a Finder Guider?

Recommended Posts

Im interested to Add a Finder Guider to my rig so to free up my 80ED so i can image on both scopes at the same time.

How do I go about:

A) making the Guider, getting it to achieve focus with the QHY6

:) Attach it to my current rig

Any thoughts?

Will a skywatcher 50mm Finder do the trick?

Cant work out where to fit it.. but there are plenty of holes on the Dovetails LOL

Yep...

The Reticule EP was setup to be Parafocal with the Synguider on the CPC800 so i used it to workout the dims for the adaptor..

I set the adjustment of the finders lens to the midpoint then moved the EP back and fore in a temporary "holder" made from HDPE foam whilst looking at a distant pylon then measured up...

I tried that with mine but could not get it at all. Mines a 9mm reticule.

I've got the other one focused for the QHY5 and its been taped up so that it wont change. I was going to use the other one for a Synguider option but I dont think I'll be getting one now.

I've got a visual Antares one with a reticule in it so I'm pretty covered.

Nice rings though mate, looks the business.
