2 Satalites Following Eachother

Looking around last night as it was clear and I noticed 2 satalites following eachother passing around Cassiopeia. Is this normal or was it a trick of the mind???

Was strange cause they had a constant distance and stayed together in formation. It was around 9.30pm last night.

I'm guessing it was a NOSS Double. Quite eerie looking, they are... gave me the beejeebers first time i saw them.

Yup - I've seen plenty of double satellites tracking side by side. Also saw one tracking ahead of the ISS a few months back - might even have been one of the Russian capsules heading for re-entry (it was quite large for a satellite).

Good call on that NOSS satallite, looking around, NOSS 3-3 (A & C) look like they passed over at that time of night heading for Cassiopeia.

Yeah, one got lost & is trying to find its way home using the technique of Zen navigation (find something that looks like it wants to go to the same place as you & follow it). Either that or the CIA satellite is chasing the Taliban satellite in order to try to shoot it down. Or vice versa. :(

Seriously - the NOSS satellite formation undoubtedly the correct explanation; there are triplets and quadruplets "flying in formation" too.

Yes saw these 2 last night as i was studying Cassiopea through my bino's at work (tut tut) at around the same time, now i know what they were.
