Hi i am trying to find a new scope and have been looking at these 2

Maksutov - Skywatcher Skymax 127 SynScan AZ GOTO

SLT Series - Celestron Nexstar 127 SLT

From what ive read they are identical, can anyone verify this or enlighten me?

The telescopes are identical, Skywatcher telescopes are made by Synta who also own Celestron. The mounts look similar but are not the same. The Celestron SLT mount has a better alignment system than the AZGoto and also has an in-built battery compartment to take AA batteries. Optically there should be no difference between the two telescopes.
