M27 Narrowband WIP

70 mins OIII & 90 mins Ha so far.

I've started to capture the out shell in the OIII data, and will be going back to this over the weekend to see if I can drag some more detail out.

So far the image is made up of all 10 min subs, would some longer 15-20 mins help draw out the shell? Any tips on not overexposing the core with much longer subs?

I said I'd come back to this and a VERY short break in the clouds of my 3 day clear sky weekend (as forecast by the met office) allowed me to add some 20 min OIII subs to the original data.

So here is v2.

Thank you kind sir, I think my Ha data is a little swamped by all the OIII and I'm not sure how to rescue the background, other than that pretty happy!

Speaking as a non narrowband imager who has read quite a lot of narrowband imager's reported experiences...

Have you thought about adding some SII as red and changing your Ha to green? (Keeping OIII as blue)?

Not sure if there is any SII in M27 (I stand to be corrected) but I don't (yet) have an SII filter to try it with anyway.

Fear not though, as it is on my shopping list.
