Aputure AP-TR1C remote for camera

I’m currently using one of these, now I’ve noticed that i wasn’t getting as many images as the number i put into the controller to take.

After watching what was actually happening i noticed that after the first picture was taken and the next delay passed the camera lens would open but not actually take the shot it would then go through the next delay and once it got to the next one then it would take the picture.

The camera is a canon 450d set to bulb mode, with mirror lock up set to enable.

Is there another setting I’m missing or is the controller/camera faulty ?

after turning off the mirror lock up it now works is this a fault ?

as how do i avoid the vibration of the shutter opening each time ?
