Solar eclipse - China 2009

I appreciate this is posted way after the event, but have only just started posting on SGL, so have some catching up to do!

Images were taken from Hangzhou. As others have said, we were lucky to see this at all, the clouds clearing minutes before the action really started. My new Chinese buddies seemed really chuffed with the view through my filtered 500mm lens!

To those more experienced than I at post-processing, please could you suggest how I might PP to bring out more detail in the corona? All images are single exposures in RAW format. I've tried basic levels adjustment in CS3 but can't get more out of them than shown here. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin

Lovely pics Kevin, they bring back fond memories. I was lucky enough to be able to travel up to WuHan for the eclipse, armed with only a pair of ray-bans, a mediocre camera and a wobbly tripod. It was the best experience ever and set me off on an astro binge that I'm still enjoying.
