Focus extender for guide scope

Recommended Posts

Got out last night to try my new guide camera (DMK 21AU04.AS Mono) which I used with a StarTravel 80. It wouldn't achieve focus either with or without the diagonal. With the diagonal attached I was just out of focus with the focusser all the way in. Without the diagonal it almost focused with the focusser fully extended. So... I gaff-taped the camera onto an astro-engineering tube I had in my bag of bits. Obviously this is not a long-term solution, but I got PHD running and almost got guiding. Still having alignment problems.

What kind of focus extender would I need? Would a Barlow be suitable?

Could only find 2" WO extender on FLO, but I found this one at Astronomica:

Thanks,

Ramin.
