New bits for my collimation solutions!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am very pleased to have some new bits and pieces to help with my collimation. I changed the donut on my primary mirror for a hotspot and am very pleased with it. The relfection for barlowed collimation works great. Through the Cheshire the pupil fits right into the centre of the hotspot.

Thanks to Wayne Weedon I have a couple of his eyepiece caps with holes in the centre

This has made a good apeture mask for my glatter laser when used with my orion precision adapter that has a filter thread on bottom.

I also have a centred hole for my Barlowed Collimation setup. As the barlow doesnt have a thread on the bottom I unscrewed the barlow section and put it inside. Then put the laser in on top. I probably should have made the hole a bit bigger than the 1mm hole I asked for as the beam is a bit small.

I am very pleased with the help Wayne gave me and love the way in astronomy we can adapt things to do the job.
